As swine flu continues to hold the attention of pharmaceutical companies, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) has released recommendations for the seasonal influenza vaccine composition for 2009/2010;

It has also issued a guideline on plasma-derived medicines; while also releasing a guideline on replacing rabbit pyrogen testing by an alternative test for plasma-derived medicinal products;

Meanwhile, the agency has released procedural advice on handling recommendations regarding unforeseen variations in medicine marketing authorisations;

And it has issued advice regarding scientific recommendations on the classification of advanced therapy medicinal products.
