An entry level automatic liquid filling system has been introduced by Universal Filling Machine Company to meet the needs of customers looking to increase output without making a major investment in new equipment.

The Posimatic EV is available in two- or four-head options and features a new style roll-up chassis that enables the machine to be moved from line to line as required.

The chassis incorporates a conveyor, product gating and diving nozzle system, plus a control unit, and can be fitted with a variety of Universal's valve heads. These include poppet valves for light liquids or the more versatile rotary valves.

In addition, as with other Universal automatic equipment, the Posimatic EV can be adapted to take vacuum filling heads for applications where level filling is required.

Liquids, creams and gels can all be handled by the machine, with bulk product either drawn up from floor mounted vessels or fed from an overhead tank. Depending on the fill volume and number of filling heads, speeds of up to 50 containers a minute are possible and the minimum of operator involvement is required for continuous automatic operation.

The simplicity of the machine is one of its major advantages as product and container changeovers can be achieved very quickly without the need for expensive change parts. The machine is also very simple to clean and maintain, maximising operating time and output.

Alastair Morrison, managing director of Universal Filling Machine Company, said: 'Many of our customers see the overall cost benefits of going automatic but can be put off by the initial capital cost. Our new Posimatic EV offers affordable access to these ongoing benefits.'
