EU scientists characterise Chinese medicine compounds

Used in traditional Chinese medicines to treat cardiovascular disease


A European Union (EU)-funded research project has started investigating active compounds used in traditional Chinese medicines in treating cardiovascular disease.

The TCM-VASC project, led by the University of Vienna, in Austria will first identify particularly useful chemicals in the laboratory and then pick some for in vivo assessment of how well they are absorbed and used by the body.
