Extrusion mixer gets an update

Hosokawa Rietz's well-established Extrud-O-Mix has now been modified and updated.

Designed to continuously mix agglomerate and extrude product, the machines can be jacketed for thermal control and fitted with variable speed drives.

Fitting interchangeable orifice plates creates three mixing chambers within the barrel of the machine to control the degree of mixing. Additional chemicals may be introduced through injection points.

Further design options include a fully cantilevered mixing shaft, removing the need for an end support bush so as to ensure the highest levels of contamination-free operation. A fully sealed mixing chamber can reduce the risk of product egress.
