Pharmaceutical researchers are preparing for the first 15 projects funded through the European Union's (EU) Innovative Medicines Initiative.


Pharmaceutical researchers are preparing for the first 15 projects funded through the European Union's (EU) Innovative Medicines Initiative.

These will share Euro 246m, with â"šÂ¬110m from the EU's seventh framework programme (FP7) and the pharmaceutical sector providing the remaining â"šÂ¬136m through in kind contributions, such as personnel and facilities.

Topics covered will include non-genotoxic carcinogenesis; silico toxicity; translational safety biomarkers; monitoring medicine benefit/risk; islet cells; surrogate markers for vascular endpoints; pain; psychiatric disorder novel therapies; and neurodegenerative disorders.
