Gore-Tex at the forefront

Published: 1-Apr-2003

W L Gore & Associates will be exhibiting on two separate stands at this year's ACHEMA. The company will be showing its latest innovations in the field of industrial dry filtration and Gore sealant products.

For industrial dry filtration, Gore's focus is on innovation with the introduction of a new addition to its family of Gore-Tex high durability filter bags.

Based on a blended PTFE and polyimide felt, these new high durability bags are designed for applications where the importance of a significantly longer bag life outweighs the initial financial investment. They will provide a cost-effective solution to drying applications in the chemical industry, where membrane-acrylic or membrane-aramid felts were previously used. They can also be used in the energy and minerals industries where they are an attractive alternative to conventional felts. A wide range of Gore-Tex high durability and Gore-Tex high hlow filter bags will be on display.

On the same stand Sinbran filter elements will be on show. These elements combine the advantages of both membrane filtration and rigid body filtration. They are suitable for chemical, pharmaceutical and food applications as well as more specialised operation including laser cutting fume extraction and the collection of highly abrasive coarse ceramic dust. Various standard and also tailor-made designs make the elements applicable in almost every dust collector.

Also featuring at the exhibition will be filter bags designed and manufactured according to GMP and FDA guidelines recognised by the food and pharmaceutical industries. Gore-Tex membrane is made of 100% virgin PTFE and is free from any additives. Special sewing and welding procedures ensure that only the membrane, and not the backing laminate, is in contact with the product.

GORE will have MikroPul on stand J12-J14 as a co-exhibitor.
