Olympus has launched the cell^M and cell^R fluorescence imaging workstations designed specifically for investigating live cell processes.

Both products offer specialised all-in-one iIllumination systems with highly sensitive digital cameras for multicolour fluorescence time-lapse image acquisition. Their imaging software package features the intuitive Experiment Manager - a graphical interface enabling set up and execution of even the most complex experiments, with minimal training.

The cell^R boasts real time capability for a broad range of life science experiments. Its MT20 illumination system, allowing ultra-fast wavelength switching and attenuation, is specifically designed to meet experimental requirements for real time image acquisition by highly sensitive CCD cameras. A dedicated real time controller synchronises all hardware and peripheral devices whilst functioning independently of the imaging computer, enabling precise synchronisation of sample illumination and image acquisition and minimising phototoxicity and bleaching, Olympus says.

The cell^M is a highly integrated, multi-device imaging station for sophisticated fluorescence applications and live cell experiments.

Ensuring seamless workstation integration, both cell^R and cell^M system solutions are composed entirely of Olympus software, hardware control, illumination systems and microscopes throughout.
