Ismatec pumps from Michael Smith Engineers meet this demand, with a range of multi channel tubing pumps that offer a choice of 4,8,12 or 24 channels, delivering flows from as little as 0.002ml up to 44ml/min per channel. Typical applications include perfusion of animal tissue slices, sampling from tablet dissolution systems, and flow injection analyzers.
They use a planetary drive via a sun wheel, providing direct drive to eight stainless steel rollers. This prevents axial push-pull friction on the tubing, and results in increased service life of the tubing, lower pulsation, and very high repeatability on all channels. The pumps are easy to use, and feature Ismatec's click 'n' go cassettes with automatic pressure setting and two stop tubing.
Models and drive options include; the IPC and IP, capable of 0.4 to 45 rpm, giving a flow range of 0.002 to 44 ml/min per channel; or the IPC-N (and IP-N), capable of 0.11 to 11.25 rpm, providing a flow rate of 0.0004 to 11 ml/min (dependant on which of the 10 tubing sizes available is used). All drive options have a speed range of 1 to 100% and a resolution of 0.1%.
Both IPC and IPC-N models include a microprocessor which enables control by PC or via analogue signals, while an easy-to-use membrane keypad with LED display allows users to programme the pump to perform a range of functions; such as dispensing set volumes, set dispense times and pause time between dispenses.
Ismatec pumps, which are housed in robust, laquered stainless steel IP30 casings, are suitable for continuous operation and can be dry-run.
