Published: 1-Nov-2003

Markem Systems UK, from Salford, has released the latest addition to its SmartLase range of CO2 laser coders, the SL130. Sharing the same compact design as existing SmartLase products, the competitively priced SL130 coder uses enhanced power output to print clear, variable data onto a wide variety of substrates. The system comprises a 30W air-cooled laser, controlled by a QWERTY keypad, and a portable power supply. Measuring 600x165x135mm, the laser has a variable position output lens, making it easy to integrate into existing production and packaging lines.

Markem can also supply all necessary installation, including guarding and filtration and provide all the operating and safety training required. Simon Chidgey, general manager of Markem Systems UK, said: 'The SmartLase 130 coder strengthens Markem's position as a complete supplier of laser coding and marking solutions and will fulfil many applications in the pharmaceutical industry.

'In addition, the SL130 can be used to mark engineered components in automated manufacturing lines where precise identification and traceability are required.'
