L.B. Bohle's QbCon 1, the market's first continuous twin-screw granulator with an integrated, truly continuous dryer was on show, among other products, generating a buzz amongst visitors to the stand

This year´s Achema in Frankfurt, Germany, was a huge success for the German machine builder L.B. Bohle. At the expansive booth, they shared with tablet press specialists, Korsch AG, interested parties and customers were able to find out more about current sold dosage production trends under the motto "Your Process in Mind".

A highlight of this year's trade fair, L.B. Bohle's QbCon 1, the market's first continuous twin-screw granulator with an integrated, truly continuous dryer. Visitors were enthusiastic about this unique new machine, because QbCon 1 accomplishes truly continuous drying and granulation with very narrow and reproducible dwell times in the dryer, as well as stable quality of the granules in terms of moisture and particle size.

By using PAT, the production process can be tracked inline. This leads to constant production of high-quality products, lower costs, better process understanding, as well as optimised process control. Complete control and monitoring of the entire process takes place via a touch panel.

QbCon 1 requires little space and is suitable for the lowest throughputs (nominal throughput: 0.5-2.5 kg / h), but throughput can be increased far greater depending on the product. As a result of seeing the QbCon 1 at the fair, customers have already arranged to get a closer look and test this machine at the Bohle facility.

Also on show was the lifting column HS 1000 S. The new lifting column impresses with its extremely small footprint and enables gentle lifting, precise docking, precise slewing and rotating as well as the integration of containment valves, drum adapter or other equipment.

Another innovation on show was the monitoring application b.sure, a platform for all PLC systems enabling machine operators to keep track of all process data at all times. Unlike other cloud-based applications, b.sure processes all data on a communication server on the internal network and sends this data only to authorised individuals in the organisation. With b.sure, deviations from process parameters or error messages can be detected at an early stage at authorised end devices or PC workstations without having direct access to the control panels of the system. In addition, the app includes a maintenance mode with notification feature that provides information about upcoming maintenance and calibration.

Other popular products included the film coater BFC 50 Tripan with three exchangeable drums and L.B. Bohle's granulation programme, from which the single-pot granulator VMA and the roller compactor BRC 25 were presented. The tablet checker KA 280 was was also a highlight on the exhibition stand shown in full operation. The hammer mill BTM 150 was also very well received by the audience.

L.B. Bohle Maschinen + Verfahren would like to thank all who visited Achema and looks forward to working with all customers in the future.
