Thermo Fisher Scientific expands Shanghai production capacity
Will locally produce cell culture products for Chinese market
Thermo Fisher Scientific has expanded its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China, allowing it to meet growing demand for its Nunc Cell Culture products.
The product range includes tissue culture EasY Flasks, dishes, Multidishes and cell culture plates.
The Shanghai facility is ISO13485-certified with strict quality controls in place in China, as well as at Thermo Fisher’s other production sites in Rochester, NY, US and Roskilde, Denmark. Examples of quality control include lot release testing of four different cell lines to verify surface performance, use of the same virgin polystyrene resin between all sites and the same Nunclon Delta surface treatment.
In addition, sterilisation is performed using ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11137 methods.
The company says customers are assured that products supplied from any worldwide facility are of a consistent high quality and provide sterility and protection for their cell cultures.
