The monitoring system uses AI to help pharmaceutical manufacturers prevent and control insect infestations on site

Pelsis Group has debuted Digital Halo, an AI-powered monitoring system designed to help pharmaceutical manufacturers to prevent insect infestations.

The technology leverages real-time data to help manufacturers diminish pest risks, while also potentially reducing downtime and boosting process efficiency.

Through the detection, tracking and analysis of flying insect activity within a facility, Digital Halo can reduce contamination risks and promote faster response times to pest concerns.

Digital Halo also has custom thresholds for insect catch rates and glue board capacity, allowing users to receive notifications when action is required.

Data collected by the technology is reported in real time through the Pelesis app or web portal, allowing manufacturers to remain compliant with hygiene regulations.

This solution could be particularly useful for users with facilities in warmer climates, as they are generally more prone to this type of contamination.

“Halo LED is a highly effective, smart and sustainable and smart fly control solution and we are confident it will meet the increasing demand for flying insect management in pharmaceutical sites to address the hygiene and contamination risks they bring," commented Stuart Morgan, group portfolio lead for insect light traps at Pelsis.

“The use of LED technology offers versatility and significant sustainability benefits with reduced energy consumption, electricity costs and a smaller carbon footprint alongside minimised waste owing to a longer lifespan."

“Developing Halo LED this way reflects Pelsis’ commitment to develop solutions which align not just with users’ and businesses’ pest control requirements, but their wider sustainability goals.”
