Rhodia has signed an agreement with the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM), the largest trade union in the chemical industry, underlining its commitment to labour-management dialogue, social responsibility and sustainable development.
The agreement goes beyond a charter, committing Rhodia to international social standards and strengthening the company's position in regard to health and safety and risk management, in relation to company activities and the environment. Rhodia has also reaffirmed its rejection of all forms of discrimination, and its determination to improve levels of dialogue between labour and management.
The three year agreement is the first of its kind signed by ICEM with a chemical company. An annual report to be prepared by ICEM in conjunction with Rhodia will contribute to further dialogue.
