The British Pharmacopoeia 2009 (BP 2009) has now been published by The Stationery Office (TSO) on behalf of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)


The British Pharmacopoeia 2009 (BP 2009) has now been published by The Stationery Office (TSO) on behalf of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)

Legally in force from 1 January 2009, BP 2009 features 44 new monographs for formulated preparations as well as all European Pharmacopoeia material up to and including Supplement 6.2 integrated into its text.

It contains approximately 3,200 monographs and provides legally enforceable standards to which all medicinal products supplied to or sold into the UK must meet. These standards are used in more than 100 countries worldwide.

BP 2009 is also available in a variety of electronic formats. For the second year it will be published as an eBook, following the success of the 2008 eBook edition. The British Pharmacopoeia is also available online on both a single and concurrent-user access basis, ensuring that pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies are able to share ithe information with all the staff in their organisation.
