Medical device CDMO Arterex has successfully acquired Phoenix.

Through the merger, Arterex will leverage Phoenix's expertise in the design, development and manufacture of disposable medical devices to enhance its footprint in this sector.

The company will also utilise the Modena facility, which has four ISO 8 cleanrooms and 37,000 sqft of manufacturing space suitable for the development and manufacture of disposable medical devices to better serve the key European market.

Phoenix is ISO 13485:2016 certified, complying to the stringent rules set out by the European Union's Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

Arterex's strategic decision to acquire Phoenix aligns with the company's intention to expand its service offering to its North American and European clients.

The company can now offer customers design, development, compounding, engineering, extrusion, injection molding, tooling and mold builds — as well as advanced assembly and packaging services.

Arterex's CEO, Jeffery Goble, commented: “The acquisition of Phoenix is a strategic step for Arterex, allowing us to expand our medical device development and finished device assembly and packaging capabilities to Europe,”

“Phoenix will strengthen our position as a global provider of specialised and multi-capability manufacturing solutions.”

“We are excited to join the Arterex group of companies, given our strategically aligned missions to provide leading-edge medical device solutions,” said Marco Bulgarelli, co-CEO at Phoenix.

“Arterex is a trusted leader in the medical device manufacturing sector and together we will be well-positioned to find creative and effective solutions for our clients’ needs.”
