A leading pharmaceutical contract packer has received accreditation from the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) for its commitment to sound environmental practices and responsible forest management.
Chester Medical Solutions provides contract packing services to many leading companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Its packaging plant in Deeside provides assurance that cartons and leaflets produced by the company can be guaranteed to originate from well-managed forests.
The Forestry Stewardship Council is an international organisation, which encourages solutions that promote responsible stewardship of the world's forests. Its Chain of Custody (COC) certification provides a guarantee about the production of FSC-certified products and encompasses the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.
David Patterson, managing director of Chester Medical Solutions, said "We are very proud to announce this important accreditation. The environment is a vital part of any packaging solution today and FSC accreditation demonstrates our commitment to this area. This is a major achievement which will give us a real competitive edge in the key markets we serve."
