Improves speed and effectiveness and offers enhanced tools for greater compliance

Thermo Fisher Scientific has updated the software for the TruScan RM analyser to enable users to develop and validate more effectively robust methods for pharmaceutical manufacturing and counterfeit screening.

This latest software also includes feature enhancements for compliance with current good manufacturing practices (cGMP).

The TruScan RM is a handheld Raman analyser for the chemical composition of pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products.

‘This software update also makes counterfeit drug screening easier, enabling users to more effectively analyse samples for suspect medicines,’ said Bob Brush, Business Development Manager, Portable Analytical Instruments at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The TruScan RM 2.5 software update includes a number of other benefits including: improved data collection for more robust methods; new features for GMP compliance; improved performance over previous software versions; and rapid data import/export capability.

TruScan RM weighs less than a kilo, is easy to use and offers clear pass/fail results, making Raman analysis more widely accessible, the firm says.
