Significant interest in the Acumen eX3 microplate cytometer, which was launched late last year, has boosted TTP LabTech's sales to US$2m for the last quarter, enabling the company to maintain its 35% year-on-year growth in 2006.

Orders for the Acumen eX3 have been received from screening laboratories worldwide, according to the UK-based company.

'This demand demonstrates the increased aware-ness of the real benefits this technology can bring to the HCS laboratory,' said commercial director Jas Sanghera. 'The eX3 not only offers three lasers, which significantly increase the variety of fluorescent reagents that are compatible, but by screening every cell in every well, it also provides robust data even for rare event assays such as mitotic index or stem cell differentiation.'
